Magnified
fusion
For Spring 2017, we look at four different artistic mediums for inspiration.
The chaotic, rebellious street graffiti and artists like Sofia Leiby and Chris Succo.
The calming, strong, geometrical modernist lines of sculpture artists like Brancusi and Henry Moore balance forms inherent in the material.
The sensual, seductive dance and movement of dancers like Tree of Codes choreographed by Wayne McGregor, Mamix, Pilobolus, Sylvie Guillem, and Wendy Whelan. Artists who work in colorful, optimistic light like Olafur Eliasson, Dan Flavin, and James Turrell.
The rebellious, individualistic, and chaotic collide with the calm, the sculptural, the natural, the artisan, the utilitarian.
Adding speed and velocity to softness and tenderness from dance, infused with technology and light, all blend to create innovative new ideas and design hybrids.
In the search for newness and innovation, we take ideas and inspiration from the past; the 70s, the 80's, and the 90's. We use iconic Calvin Klein and we use the Now - the current and street fashion fuse, combine, and merge to push us forward to magnify, enlarge, and expand our business.
Intensify denim and boost underwear. Explode logos. Fuse color - soft and pale with the strong and intense, in unexpected combinations. Magnify accessories. Amplified hardware - fuse and combine colored metals. Maximize performance wear and the active. Expand the contemporary.
The focus is on magnifying the known, the iconic, and the every day, yet fusing it with multiple elements that create something new.
A nostalgia for personal customizing will see individual creativity shine as we look to edit and tune our wardrobes, homes, and technology, all re-worked for the new disruptive urbanites whose work/life boundaries are increasingly blurred. Dressing the new web/tech generation with the anarchistic spirit of the New Wave will inspire us to create products with energy and individualism and a focus on fusing and mashing up contrasting references.
The results are colorful, innovative, and highly tactile bringing a disruptive edge to minimalism. It's an uninhibited take on Calvin Klein; it's undone and unexpected. The fusing of these elements creates an overall feeling of lived-in and free spirited individualism.
